A doorman should only get a tip if he calls you a taxi.. and someone who carries your luggage to your room .. he should get paid when he does that... that is normal.. I don't know what a bagman is.. but the person who carries everyones heavy luggage they deserve a tip.. the doorman just for saying good morning deserves a smile and a friendly good morning to you, too... xxx

For bags, we tip a buck or two per bag to whomever handles them. The guy taking them out of the bus or your vehicle, we usually give a buck per bag but the one that brings them to the room, sets them out and shows us around the room, gets more. We don't tip someone who just opens a door. And don't forget to leave at least $3 for the maid each day.

I know the feeling!!! It's so awkward when you have to tip randomly like a doorman!! I would probably tip anywhere from $2-$5. I know that my boyfriend tips big because he thinks that makes bartenders and such remember him and take care of him. I usually just don't carry that much cash! lol
