Cheap and Great Hostel - New York City/Brooklyn?

Hi
I live in Brooklyn and my parents are coming for a visit from Bulgaria. I was wondering if you can recommend any Hostels or 2 star cheap hotels which DO look good and are not a gross room with a sink in the middle and roaches coming out of it. My parents won’t care about great luxury but i also can’t put them in a hipster style dump. Any ideas?

   Have you thought of bed and breakfasts?

   Many people in Brownstone Brooklyn who own large houses rent out 2 or more rooms as “bed and breakfast” type lodging.

   I have put my family up in several of these. They were very nice, indeed, and much cheaper than a hotel.
