What hotel would you recommend to stay in New Orleans?

I’m going to be visiting in April and would like to stay at a really nice hotel-somewhere with a gym, pool, spa, and possibly a view of the city and that’s more on the luxury side. I don’t want to stay at a chain like the W or the Marriot but somewhere that has the New Orleans “feel” to it. Thanks!

Just dont be too picky. Look at poor ppl like in ethiopia or kenya, they dont have luxury at all

now-a-days all hotels have that. So i would go with the one farthest away from the water!

I forgot the name of it, but check hotels that are downtown. That’s where most of the action is.

That is the highest crime city in the U.S.A.
Good choice.
I stayed there for six months.

The Royal Sonesta was a beautiful old hotel in the French Quarter. I’m not sure how they are doing or what amenities they have. But here’s a link.

I don’t know if its still there…but the Chateau Sonesta (bad spelling) was an excellent hotel! Very luxurious!

To bad SOOOO many people post juvenile comments and funny thing is most of them have never even stepped foot in this state. This place is really nice and it has carousel bar that actually spins. Slowly.
Have a good trip.

Check the Omni Royal Orleans and the Monteleone. Both are in the French Quarter.

I agree with hotel Monteleone in the french quarter. If you get a room high enough you have a view of the french quarter and mississippi river. I think it’s location is good too.
