Re job vacancies in luxury hotel industry, what job to apply for?

I’m about to apply for work at a luxury hotel but as this will be a career change for me, I’m totally lost when faced with the various jobs/departments such as Duty Mgr, Front Dest Mgr F&B, Sales etc.

Could anyone please suggest how I can - or where I can go in order to familiarize myself with the industry/job roles therein and hopefully be able to choose the hotel job most suitable for me?

   Depend on prior skills. What can you do or what not? If no skills, in hotel I would suggest start off at the bottom of the hotel industry then work your way to the top or take community classes in hospitality.
